Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Swine Technician to join our agricultural team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the care and management of swine, ensuring their health and well-being while maintaining efficient farm operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on livestock care and farm productivity.
Duties
- Assist with daily feeding, watering, and cleaning of swine facilities to promote optimal health.
- Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report findings to farm management.
- Assist with breeding, farrowing, weaning and piglet care as needed.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform general farm maintenance tasks, including repairs and sanitation procedures.
- Record animal health data, feed intake, and other relevant information accurately.
- Support transportation of animals within the farm premises using appropriate equipment.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot farm machinery efficiently.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling feed bags, equipment, or livestock.
- Ability to work independently and can work under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
- Good communication skills for team collaboration and reporting observations effectively. This position is integral to maintaining a healthy livestock environment and supporting the overall success of our farm operations.
Pay: $19.00 per hour
