Day Treatment Student, Family and Community Liaison
(Permanent Position – 35 hours per week)
Job Summary: The position's main function is to support Day Treatment students. Working under the direction of Knowles Centre’s Clinical Director and John G. Stewart’s Principal, the Day Treatment Student, Family, and Community Liaison Worker is an integral member of the JGS Support Team, assisting students both in and out of the classroom by providing behavioural and educational support to ensure academic success and behavioural and social growth. The Day Treatment Student, Family and Community Liaison Workers’ role extends student support beyond the school to include family and the community.
Education and Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of mental health and trauma.
- A Grade 12 diploma is required.
- A Diploma or degree in a social service field is an asset.
- Experience in working with youth.
- Experience facilitating groups or presentations is an asset.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- An understanding of colonization and intergenerational trauma
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture, customs, and beliefs
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Respectful of cultural diversity.
- Excellent and proven interpersonal and communication skills
- First Aid/CPR and a valid Manitoba Driver’s License.
