Role Overview
The Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of a multi-site manufacturing business. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong cost control, and effective financial planning while supporting operational decision-making across multiple production facilities. The position plays a key role in maintain the smooth operation of the finance department.
Reports To: VP Finance
Direct Reports: AP/AR
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Consolidate financial results across multiple manufacturing sites
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data in compliance with accounting standards
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance
- Oversee standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
- Analyze production costs, labour efficiency, and material usage across sites
- Partner with plant managers to improve cost performance and operational efficiency
- Support pricing strategies with cost and margin analysis
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process across all locations
- Prepare rolling forecasts and financial models
- Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced Excel and financial systems/ERP experience
- Experience with manufacturing ERP and automated Accounts Payable software preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to influence operational and strategic decisions
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
