Job Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and experienced line cook to join our kitchen team. As a line cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking various dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards. Your primary focus will be on ensuring high-quality food and timely service to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and measuring spices.
- Cook and plate dishes according to restaurant recipes and quality standards.
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies and ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including refrigerators, freezers, and cooking equipment.
- Ensure food is stored and handled properly to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure timely and accurate food production.
- Monitor food levels and communicate shortages or discrepancies to supervisors.
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
- Adhere to all recipes, portion sizes, and presentation specifications.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a line cook or similar role in a restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of cooking methods, techniques, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in food preparation and presentation.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Culinary education or equivalent training is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Comfortable working in a hot and sometimes cramped environment.
