The Club is recruiting a Banquet Lead to join our Food & Beverage Department. This position will be responsible for positive member interactions while serving members in a friendly and efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our members have exceptional event experiences. This position will report directly to Event Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the event set-up and ensure floorplan accuracy, service needs, décor, bar requirements are in place according to event specifications (BEO)
- Coordinate event set-up and take down activities with servers, kitchen staff, and facilities staff
- Conduct pre-event walkthrough to ensure all elements for event are in place according to event specifications
- Collaborate closely with management to address any issues or concerns during events and implement solutions to ensure guest satisfaction
- Conduct regular inspections of event spaces and service areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to club standards
- Maintain accurate records of event details, including guest counts, special requests, and service notes
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels for banquet supplies, including glassware, flatware, and linens, and report any shortages or damages to management
- Train staff on service standards, procedures, and club policies ensuring consistency and excellence in service delivery
- Maintain strong communication with the kitchen leaders to serve as liaison between kitchen and staff
- Communicate pop-up special requirements, dietary restrictions and other guest requests to the kitchen leads throughout the event
- Monitor banquet food quality and presentation, working closely with the kitchen leads to address issues or concerns
- Complete post-event reports summarizing service performance, guest feedback, and any incidents or issues encountered during events
- Complete billing for events as directed by management
- Perform all responsibilities of the Server and/or Asst. Server
- Work in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and any safety policies and procedures set out by the Club
- Conduct self in alignment with the Well Played service model (Prompt, Personalized, Polite) to support member services and respect in the workplace
Job Requirements
- At least 5 years of serving experience in hospitality-related industry, as well as prior experience in leading events and banquets is required; Private Club experience is an asset
- Food Handler’s certification and Smart Serve certification required
- Strong multi-tasking abilities and organizational skills; exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have basic knowledge of Safety and Sanitation Regulations and food & beverage menus
- Must have the ability to provide an advanced level of customer service, and maintain performance standards and professionalism during peak periods and stressful situations
- Advanced knowledge of the POS system
