Fire Watch Attendant
Our client is a leading builder of high-end custom yachts and specialized boats, known for their innovation and commitment to excellence. Based in Richmond, BC, their shipyard and manufacturing facilities are hubs of advanced marine construction and refit projects.
They’re currently seeking an experienced Fire Watch Attendant to join their team. This role is essential for maintaining a safe work environment during hot work activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and supporting their production teams.

Responsibilities
- Monitor hot work activities, such as welding, cutting, and grinding, to ensure safety.
- Maintain a safe work environment and identify potential fire hazards.
- Conduct regular inspections of work areas during and after hot work.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- Communicate with tradespeople, supervisors, and project teams.

Qualifications
- Fire Watch experience is required.
- Strong understanding of construction or industrial safety practices.
- Safety-oriented mindset with a commitment to workplace safety.
- Comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment.
- Occupational First Aid and Confined Space Entry certifications are considered assets.
- Experience supporting welding or other hot work operations is an asset.
- Able to stand, walk, monitor areas for extended periods.
- Able to lift firefighting equipment.
