The Opportunity: Reporting to the Manager of Employment Services, the Job Search Specialist is responsible for providing exemplary customer service to job seekers, community members, and colleagues. This role involves conducting and leading both individual and group sessions on various job search topics including resume writing, understanding labour market dynamics, conducting mock interviews, and assisting with job search plans. Additionally, the specialist will collect participant information and documentation. As a key member of the Employment Services team, the incumbent operates within a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) framework and is accountable for achieving specific performance metrics. This position plays a crucial role in serving the most vulnerable members of the community and is integral to the new Integrated Employment Services (IES) model, aiming to deliver cohesive and effective employment support.
What you need to be successful:
- 2-year diploma in Business (Marketing or Public Relations), Office Administration or Human Resources
- minimum one year demonstrated experience in crafting high level resumes and cover letters (OPS), ensuring accuracy and excellence and without the need for proofreading. Must produce error free documents.
- demonstrated customer service experience in an employment service, recruitment, or business capacity
- demonstrated experience working with job seekers
- experience delivering workshops/presentations considered an asset
- proven verbal and written communication skills
- experience in both professional and creative writing
- strong attention to detail
- strong organizational and time management skills
- ability to demonstrate a high level of customer service to job seekers, community members and fellow staff members
- commitment to customer service and client success
- strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment

This is a regular part-time support staff position, up to 24 hours/week, $22.84/hour.
