Job Summary
The Dishwasher I is responsible for washing and properly storing all cooking utensils, china, equipment, flatware, and glassware. This role maintains cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and service areas while supporting overall food and beverage operations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Wash all dishware, pots, pans, and utensils according to sanitation standards.
- Clean dishwashing machines and dish areas after each meal period; de-lime when required.
- Maintain cleanliness of stainless steel, dish cabinets, ice machines, coffee stations, refrigerators, and walk-ins.
- Ensure an adequate supply of clean dishware, flatware, and glassware for kitchen and dining service.
- Safely dispose of garbage, recycling, and broken glass.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors and maintain dish room organization.
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
- Assist with basic food preparation, storing deliveries, and cleaning coolers or storerooms when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in a kitchen or dishwashing role an asset.
- Knowledge of WHMIS, sanitation, and health & safety standards preferred.
- Food Handler Certification an asset.
- Strong work ethic with attention to cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to work in a hot, humid, and loud environment for long periods.
- Physically able to lift, reach, bend, and stand for extended shifts.
Work Environment
- High-volume kitchen environment with frequent exposure to heat, humidity, and noise.
- Prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motions required.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.
Health and Safety Accountabilities
Workers are responsible for:
- Always following instructions given by supervision.
- Stopping and consulting their supervisor immediately if unable to follow instructions or before creating a new task.
- Using safe practices in all job tasks.
- Reporting hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
Job Details
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Full-time, Permanent, 40h/week.
Salary: $18.50 - $19.50/hour (depending on experience) + gratuities
Location: Credit Valley Golf and Country Club – 2500 Old Carriage Rd, Mississauga.
