Company Overview:
DJN Services Ltd is a leading excavation and site-preparation contractor specializing in municipal earthworks, Petroleum related work, large civil excavation work and demolition. We are looking for a disciplined, analytical Junior Estimator to support our bidding team and help us deliver accurate, competitive proposals.
Role Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Estimator / Senior OM, you will assist in the preparation of full-scale estimates for excavation and leveling projects. Your primary focus will be on performing digital quantity takeoffs, analyzing site drawings, and coordinating with suppliers to secure competitive material and equipment pricing. Attending site meeting when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quantity Takeoffs: Perform detailed digital measurements from civil engineering drawings to determine earthwork volumes (cut/fill), granular requirements, and site-servicing needs.
- Bid Preparation: Assist in drafting formal tender submissions, ensuring all project specifications, municipal standards, and addenda are accurately addressed.
- Vendor Coordination: Solicit and track quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers to ensure cost accuracy.
- Project Hand-off: Support the transition of awarded projects to the Project Management team by providing detailed summaries of estimated costs and operational goals.
- Site Inspections: Attend pre-bid site visits to evaluate soil conditions, access constraints, and other physical risks.
Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Software Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PDF markup tools. Experience with 3D software is a major asset.
- Analytical Aptitude: Strong mathematical skills, specifically in geometric and spatial calculations for volume assessments.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication for professional interaction with vendors and project stakeholders.
- License: A valid driver’s license for site visits.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
