TITLE: Certified Electrician (Red Seal)
CURRENT RATE OF PAY: Dependent on skills and experience
HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week, some after-hours and out-of-town shifts may be required.

Pivot Electric Ltd is seeking an electrician to join our team. Based in Quesnel, BC, we offer a range of services to clients in the residential, commercial, and light industrial sectors. Our projects are varied and include residential renovations/home builds, remote camp work supporting resource industries, and commercial facility upgrades. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The incumbent shall be responsible for the performance of a variety of technical duties related to the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and advises clients on electrical installations.
- Liaises with B.C. Hydro, Telus, Cablevision provider, other utilities and all on site contractors as needed based on project requirements.
- Must have a good understanding or be knowledgeable in the area of residential and commercial building practices.
- A firm understanding of motor controls, PLC’s and VFD’s an asset
- Responsible for submitting hours, material use and job notes electronically.
- Responds to call-out emergency maintenance and repair work on short notice and possible inclement weather conditions.
- Responsible for ensuring safe work practices used on the job site and assisting in the development of safer and more efficient methods of work.
- Completes other duties as assigned and required to facilitate the day-to-day operations.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of Grade 12.
- Must hold a Red seal Certification of Qualifications in the Trade of Electrical Work.
- Canadian Citizenship
- Minimum five (5) years recent electrical experience.
- SCADA, PLC, VFD training/experience an asset.
- Valid B.C. Driver’s License – Class 5.
- Knowledge and experience in preparation and maintenance of log books, records, reports, maintaining accuracy.
- Knowledge and experience in interpreting drawings.
- Knowledge and experience in aspects of building repair and maintenance.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English.
- Ability to work independently, to prioritize and organize workload.
- Ability to supervise.
- Ability to operate communications equipment and software.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.00-$42.00 per hour
