Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project execution. This role requires a strong understanding of construction estimating, project management, and pricing strategies, with proficiency in industry-standard software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid. The Project Estimator will play a critical role in securing new projects and maintaining profitable operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on detailed plans, specifications, and client requirements.
- Utilize Bluebeam and HeavyBid software to prepare, review, and manage estimates efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to gather pricing information and negotiate terms to achieve competitive yet profitable bids.
- Analyze project scope, identify potential risks or challenges, and incorporate contingency allowances as needed.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals, including labor, materials, equipment costs, and other direct or indirect expenses.
- Assist in the development of project schedules and resource planning to ensure estimates align with project timelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new estimating techniques.
- Support the negotiation process by providing technical expertise and cost analysis during contract discussions.
Skills
- Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu for markup and document management.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with clients and subcontractors.
- Experience in project management within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with HeavyBid estimating software is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of construction estimating processes, including pricing strategies for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret plans and specifications accurately.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interactions and internal coordination. Pay: $48,261.58-$108,427.80 per year
