Our Halifax branch is growing, and we are looking for an energetic, hands-on Warehouse Supervisor / Operator to join our operations team.
This is not a desk job. We are looking for a leader who enjoys working alongside the team while ensuring the warehouse operates safely, efficiently, and professionally.
Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor / Operator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day warehouse operation while providing leadership to warehouse staff. The successful candidate will help coordinate receiving, storage, inventory control, shipping, and warehouse organization while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily warehouse activities and provide direction to warehouse employees
- Work alongside the team during loading, unloading, and warehouse operations
- Receive and inspect inbound shipments
- Prepare outbound shipments for local and long-distance deliveries
- Maintain accurate inventory and warehouse records
- Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely
- Ensure warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained
- Assist with scheduling daily warehouse priorities
- Communicate effectively with Operations, Dispatch, Customer Service, and Drivers
- Identify process improvements and help increase warehouse efficiency
- Ensure all company and safety procedures are followed
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience in logistics, transportation, moving, or distribution is considered an asset
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude and team-first mentality
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office experience required; warehouse software experience is an asset)
- Valid driver's license
