YOUR NEW ROLE
We’re looking for Marketing and Communications professional with strong writing and editorial skills to help strengthen how CHC engages with the sector and broader community in a fast-moving, start-up environment.
We’re looking for a sharp eye for detail and someone who takes pride in producing polished, accurate, and thoughtful work, with a focus on strategic communications, organizational storytelling, and helping communicate CHC’s mission and impact in a clear and grounded way.
This is a collaborative and evolving role within a growing organization. We’re looking for someone who’s ready to contribute ideas, support a range of communications and marketing initiatives, and grow alongside the team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Write, edit, design, and coordinate content and materials for digital and print communications, including newsletters, reports, presentations, brochures, website content, speaking notes, interviews, testimonials, and other organizational materials.
· Draft internal communications and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across teams.
· Ensure all public-facing materials adhere to organizational brand standards, tone, and accessibility guidelines.
· Maintain and update website content using a content management system (e.g., WordPress).
· Support member and client communications by ensuring timely, professional responses across communication channels, including the main phone line and shared inboxes.
· Plan and execute targeted marketing campaigns to support program promotion, audience engagement, and organizational growth.
· Manage social media platforms and email marketing campaigns, including content scheduling, audience targeting, and engagement strategies.
· Monitor and analyze campaign performance using tools such as Excel, HubSpot, and Monday.com, and adjust strategies based on insights.
· Prepare reports summarizing campaign performance, digital engagement, event outcomes, and survey results, and provide data-driven recommendations.
· Support relationship-building and sector engagement initiatives by coordinating events, conferences, education sessions, outreach activities, and trade show participation.
· Support member feedback initiatives, including surveys (e.g., NPS, CSAT), and contribute to improving communications, marketing strategies, and overall member experience.
· Provide cross-functional support during peak periods, special projects, and team absences to ensure continuity of operations.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education requirements
Post-secondary education in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, English, or a related field is required.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience developing and coordinating content across multiple channels, including print, digital, web, email, and social media.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience supporting marketing campaigns, communications initiatives, or event coordination.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders in a dynamic, evolving environment with flexibility and initiative.
- Experience working in non-profit, member-based, or mission-driven organizations is considered an asset.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in content management and digital platforms (e.g., WordPress, HubSpot) for website updates, email campaigns, and content publishing.
- Experience with social media and email marketing tools, including content scheduling, coordination, and performance tracking.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign) to create and edit materials.
- Experience using CRM, project management, and reporting tools (e.g., HubSpot, Monday.com, Excel) for campaign tracking and workflow coordination.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), including reporting and presentations.
Soft skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences. (Writing test may be required).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Collaborative and relationship-oriented, with the ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally.
- Strong interpersonal and customer/member service skills, with a responsive and solutions-focused approach.
- Professional and confident representing the organization at sector events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Physical skill requirements
· The role may require standing or walking for extended periods, and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs (up to 50 lbs), including set-up, adjustment, and movement of event-related materials.

WHAT WE OFFER
The salary range for this position is $53,600 to $67,000, and it will be determined based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
