Hank Daddy's Barbecue is a family-owned Kansas City-style barbecue restaurant built on great food, genuine hospitality, and a strong team culture. We are passionate about creating memorable guest experiences and are seeking an experienced, energetic, and hands-on Front of House Manager to lead our service team.

Position Summary
The Front of House Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of all front-of-house operations, including staffing, training, guest satisfaction, inventory management, and team development. This position reports directly to the General Manager and plays a key role in creating a positive workplace culture and ensuring operational success.
Approximately 60% of this role involves working active server shifts while providing leadership and support to the team.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard front-of-house staff.
- Train, coach, and develop team members to achieve high performance standards.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and sales-focused work environment.
- Conduct regular performance discussions and provide ongoing feedback.
- Create and manage staff schedules while maintaining labour budgets.
Guest Experience
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional hospitality.
- Resolve guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure service standards are consistently maintained.
- Build relationships with regular guests and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.
Operations & Administration
- Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed accurately.
- Oversee server cash-outs and end-of-day reconciliation.
- Monitor front-of-house policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
Inventory & Purchasing
- Order alcohol, beverages, and front-of-house supplies.
- Maintain accurate bar inventory and stock levels.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate variances.
- Work closely with management to control costs and reduce waste.
Sales & Business Development
- Support promotional initiatives and local marketing efforts.
- Encourage upselling and product knowledge among staff.
- Provide feedback on menu offerings, beverage programs, and guest preferences.
- Contribute ideas to increase sales and improve the guest experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant management or supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proven ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and labour controls.
- Smart Serve Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A hands-on leadership style with a passion for hospitality.
