Job Description
The Comox Golf Club is seeking a skilled and reliable Golf Course Mechanic to oversee the maintenance and repair of our specialized turf equipment fleet. This role is essential to ensuring our maintenance team has the functional tools required to keep the course in premier condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular servicing, oil changes, and inspections on a variety of equipment including Toro mowers, utility vehicles, and tractors.
- Equipment Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Reel & Blade Maintenance: Specialized grinding and sharpening of reel mowers to ensure a precise, high-quality cut on greens, tees, and fairways.
- Inventory Management: Track parts, order supplies, and maintain a clean, organized shop environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of all equipment repairs and maintenance schedules.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic (experience with turf equipment or heavy machinery is a significant asset).
- Strong knowledge of small engine repair, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems independently.
- Welding and fabrication skills are considered a plus.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced seasonal environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage: $25-$30
