We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Associate to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- Implement, monitor and maintain the company’s Preventive Control Plan (PCP) under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR)
- Investigate & document customer complaints and quality issues; drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Support new product developments; review of product specification, ingredients, allergens, CoA, labelling for compliance to CFIA regulations and customer expectations
- Assist with new supplier onboarding; review of supplier’s food safety and quality programs, HACCP, audit certifications/reports, risk assessment questionnaires
- Maintain current and accurate supplier compliance documents
- Own the recall and traceability program, including mock recalls
- Assist with Food Defense, Food Fraud, allergen control, and environmental monitoring programs.
- Collaborate across various departments to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of our Preventative Control Plan (PCP)
- Maintain current knowledge of all Federal and local food safety regulations
- All other duties as may be assigned
What You Bring:
- Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of QA or QC experience in food industry
- Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, CFIA, and SFCR requirements
- Detail oriented, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
