The Cook/Receiver plays a vital role in the overall success of kitchen operations. This position requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and a commitment to cleanliness and organization. Balancing both culinary and receiving responsibilities, this role supports the team by ensuring ingredients are properly prepared while also managing the accurate receipt, inspection, and storage of all incoming goods.

Key Accountabilities:
- Receive and inspect all incoming goods and deliveries, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and ensuring items meet quality and safety standards.
- Sort, label, and store items in designated storage areas, maintaining proper organization and stock rotation to prevent spoilage or loss.
- Record and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages promptly to the appropriate department for resolution.
- Maintain clean, safe, and well-organized receiving and storage areas in accordance with company policies and food safety regulations.
- Coordinate delivery schedules and communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate supply flow.
- Assist with stock counts and inventory control processes to support accurate tracking and replenishment of supplies.
- Handle perishable, dry, and frozen goods according to safety and temperature guidelines to preserve product quality.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, and scales safely and efficiently, reporting any mechanical issues to management.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude, collaborating effectively with team members and colleagues across departments to achieve property success.
- Prioritize tasks with a sense of urgency while maintaining composure and high standards, especially during peak periods.
- Adhere to Health and Safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
- Commit to ongoing personal and professional development by attending training sessions, staying informed of company standards, and applying new knowledge.
- Maintain punctuality, proper uniform presentation, and personal hygiene in line with company policies.
- Act with integrity and professionalism, taking responsibility for decisions and actions while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

What we would like you to bring to the position:
- WHMIS Certification (training provided)
- Previous experience in a receiving, stockroom, or storekeeping role within hospitality, retail, or warehouse environments
- Experience handling food and beverage deliveries (for restaurant/hotel settings), including perishables and temperature-sensitive items
- Familiarity with inventory systems, purchase order matching, and basic stock control procedures considered an asset
- Exposure to hotel or restaurant operations is preferred, particularly in back-of-house functions
- Attention to Detail: Accurately inspects and records deliveries, ensuring product quality and correct documentation.
- Time Management: Efficiently handles high volumes of deliveries within tight timeframes.
- Knowledge of Receiving and Inventory Procedures: Understands receiving protocols, stock rotation, and safe storage practices.
- Organization Skills: Maintains clean, well-organized receiving and storage areas for easy access and tracking.
- Communication and Coordination: Works effectively with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth supply flow.
- Reliability and Integrity: Consistently dependable, honest, and compliant with safety and hygiene standards.
