Delivery Driver
Our three facilities operate out of Southern Alberta which supply products for both industrial and recreational use, including Welding products and gases for a variety of industries.
We are looking to grow our team with the addition of a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver. The Delivery Driver requires attention to detail, strong commitment to safety, and is physically demanding (will be responsible for loading/unloading at client sites). The Driver must be able to effectively communicate and cooperate with customers, respond to their needs, and comply with company and government transport guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a high standard of customer Service while delivering goods of various size and packages to customers, this includes unloading of products and movement to customer use point, followed by reloading the returned product to the vehicle;
- Driving represents approximately 50% of the Driver’s day, and the remaining portion of the day is taken up by other activities including; delivery, product handling, shipping orders/ paperwork, customer contact, and vehicle AM and PM inspections;
- The Driver is expected to complete routes within a normal workday and return to the warehouse upon route completion;
- Responsible for counting and recording quantities and styles of product delivered and received to ensure accurate paperwork for customer transactions;
- Responsible for truck inventory reconciliation and required paperwork;
- Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections noting and explaining defects or deficiencies to management;
- Identify need for repairs and/or maintenance to vehicles and is accountable for ensuring the maintenance or repairs are accomplished with minimum disruption to the operation;
- Operate a variety of equipment and regularly interfaces with both internal and external customers;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- No preventable accidents, license suspensions or other moving violations in the past two (2) years;
- No alcohol related convictions within the last ten (10) years;
- Valid class 1 or 3 (with air endorsement) license;
- The ability to speak, read, and write in English;
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.;
- Lifting up to 50lbs is required.
