Reporting to the Manager of Student Information Systems and working as part of a team to support both elementary and secondary schools on issues directly related to Student Information Systems (SIS). This position is also responsible for supporting all processes related to data collection, validation and reporting to meet Board and Ministry requirements and timelines for all OnSIS reporting cycles.
Duties:

Provide day-to-day end user functional support and training for school support staff and Administrative Assistants on the SIS product suite

Troubleshoot and recreate end user problems and identify software issues
Escalation of issues when necessary to internal or external staff and work directly with vendors to resolve issues
Analyze SIS data for integrity and accuracy for all school processes
Analyze, design and implement numerous specialized reports to meet the specific requirements of schools, the Board and the Ministry of Education
Work collaboratively with other departments and IT staff regarding Student Information Systems
Analyze new software releases and complete user acceptance testing of the SIS product suite
Development of end user documentation and communication to support operational processes that adhere to Ministry regulations
Create, develop, and present formal or informal training sessions for individuals and groups
Ensure critical timelines are met to support both school based operations and Ministry OnSIS collection requirements
Support the implementation of new board-wide systems that impact many users, with minimum disruption while retaining data accuracy
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Three (3) year diploma in office administration from a recognized college or equivalent
A minimum of three (3) years experience in a school/board environment with advanced working knowledge of Student Information Systems
Excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency in Excel
Strong professional and organizational skills that promote being able to effectively work independently and as a valued team member in highly complex situations
Strong interpersonal and analytic skills to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines
Ability to exercise tact and discretion when dealing with highly confidential information and sensitive issues
Experience in a system support role is an asset
