Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, experience with CNC machinery, and proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings. This role involves operating advanced machining equipment, programming CNC machines, and ensuring precision in manufacturing components. Candidates with expertise in SolidWorks, CAD, and lean manufacturing principles will excel in this position. The successful applicant will play a vital role in producing high-quality parts using various tools and techniques, contributing to the efficiency and success of our operations.
Duties
- Operate CNC lathe and CNC milling machines with precision, utilizing Fanuc controls and CNC programming skills
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to produce accurate components
- Set up and calibrate machinery using hand tools, calipers, and power tools for optimal performance
- Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Use welding techniques when necessary to assemble or repair parts
- Read and interpret measurements with calipers and other measuring instruments to ensure specifications are met
- Assist in assembly processes as needed, supporting lean manufacturing practices to minimize waste
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards including forklift operation when required
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to quality standards throughout the manufacturing process
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Machinist or similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation of CNC lathe and milling machines
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files (SolidWorks preferred)
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls and basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, calipers, and other machining equipment
- Ability to operate forklift safely (certification preferred)
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
