Staff Plus is hiring Line Operator for our client in a food manufacturing plant located in North York, ON. As a line operator, you will set up, operate, and adjust production machinery to ensure that the line runs safely, efficiently and in accordance with customer specifications. The Line Operator must acquire functional understandings of their assigned equipment(s) and possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical stoppages.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set up lines and re-assemble equipment
- Calibrate equipment and conduct parts changeovers
- Inspect all equipment and stations prior to production start-time
- Operate equipment and monitor line performance
- Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical issues
- Perform quality audits in accordance with food safety code
- Accurately fill out all required documentation, pre-operational inspections, and daily productivity reports
- Perform adjustments to equipment in cases of quality defects
- Oversee housekeeping and daily clean-up of respective area
- Coordinate raw materials, packaging, and finished product with material handlers
Qualifications:
- Mechanical experience is a bonus
- Minimum of 1 year in machine operation in food manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Working Conditions/Potential Hazards
- Temperature changing environment: humidity, heat, cold
- Exposure to wet conditions, slippery floors
- Exposure to food odors
- Possibility for heaving lifting, manually moving products up to 50lbs
