Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate AP Biology Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biology and teaching, with the ability to inspire students to excel in their AP Biology coursework. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to students' academic growth while fostering a love for science and critical thinking. The position involves engaging classroom instruction, curriculum development, and supporting students in achieving their academic goals.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in AP Biology aligned with the College Board curriculum standards
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, inquiry, and scientific exploration
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional strategies and share best practices
- Support students with special education needs or accommodations as required
- Incorporate technology and computer skills to enhance classroom instruction and student engagement
- Prepare students for AP exams through review sessions, practice tests, and additional support as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred
- Prior classroom experience teaching high school biology or related subjects
- Experience working with children and understanding of diverse student needs
- Knowledge of tutoring techniques, especially in science and math subjects
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with educational software and online resources
- Experience with special education accommodations is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate students
- Passion for science education and commitment to student success
Pay: $25.00-$60.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Vancouver, BC V6E 2S1
