Journeyman Industrial / Commercial Electrician - A & R Electric Ltd. (A&R)

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial and commercial troubleshooting, be familiar with VFD and PLC systems and have strong troubleshooting skills. Advancement to Project Manager/Team Lead is available for applicants who are knowledgeable and quick learners. This will include duties such as design, quotations, and crew management.
What You Will Do
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of industrial and commercial electrical systems.
- Install industrial electrical equipment, motors, and machinery.
- Connect and commission motors, machines, and associated control systems.
- Work with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Troubleshoot and maintain industrial and commercial lighting systems.
- Perform electrical maintenance, repairs, and upgrades in industrial environments.
- Assist with removal and replacement of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Perform underground installations including trenching, conduit, and cable pulls.
- Pull, terminate, and secure electrical cable in accordance with specifications.
- Install and maintain lighting, fire alarm, and associated electrical systems.
- Work in a variety of environments including outdoor conditions and at heights.
- Travel to job sites throughout the Fraser Valley, primarily Surrey and Langley.
- Perform physically demanding tasks as required to complete project scope.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical work (Journeyman level preferred).
- Strong experience in industrial troubleshooting and electrical system diagnostics.
- Experience working with motors, VFDs, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Exposure to industrial installations, maintenance, and equipment connections.
- Experience working on active job sites including construction and retrofit environments.
- Light millwright experience considered an asset.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician Certification (required).
- Red Seal Endorsement (preferred).
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions and physically demanding situations.
- Willingness to travel to job sites across the Fraser Valley.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive hourly wage of $40.00 - $60.00, based on experience
