Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Door Hardware Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of door hardware systems across commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will ensure that doors are secure, functional, and aesthetically aligned with project specifications. Responsibilities
- Install, adjust, and repair door hardware including locks, handles, hinges, and electronic access systems using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute installation plans.
- Perform glass installation, metal stud framing, trim carpentry, and fixture installation as required for door assemblies.
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to modify or create custom hardware components when necessary.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with door frames, lock mechanisms, and electronic access controls.
- Ensure proper caulking, sealing, and finishing around installed hardware for durability and aesthetic appeal.
- Heavy lifting of doors, hardware components, and related materials safely on construction sites while following safety protocols.
- Collaborate with project managers, electricians, carpenters, locksmiths, and other trades to coordinate installation activities seamlessly.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and construction site regulations to promote a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in door hanging, hardware installation, or related construction roles.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, hammers, and wrenches; familiarity with power tools is essential.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate installations.
- Experience with glass installation, metal framing, trim carpentry, fixture setup, and locksmithing is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during installation tasks.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with understanding of electrical systems related to electronic locks or access controls.
- Construction site experience with a focus on remodeling or new build projects preferred.
- Basic welding skills and fabrication knowledge are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on-site.
- Valid safety certifications such as OSHA training are preferred but not required.
