Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transportation Safety & Compliance Coordinator to join our team in Winnipeg. This role is responsible for ensuring our fleet, drivers, and company remain fully compliant with all provincial and federal transportation regulations.
The successful candidate will oversee driver compliance, vehicle maintenance records, permits, inspections, and safety documentation while working closely with dispatch, drivers, and management to maintain the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain driver qualification files.
- Review and audit driver logs (ELDs/HOS) to ensure compliance.
- Ensure all permits, licenses, registrations, and insurance documents remain current.
- Schedule and track annual inspections, CVIPs, maintenance, and preventive servicing for tractors and trailers.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records for all equipment.
- Monitor driver violations, accidents, and safety performance.
- Conduct driver orientations and assist with ongoing safety training.
- Ensure compliance with Manitoba, Canadian, and U.S. transportation regulations.
- Maintain safety files, policies, and compliance documentation.
- Work with repair shops, vendors, and internal staff to schedule repairs and inspections.
- Assist during audits and regulatory inspections.
- Investigate safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Support dispatch and operations with compliance-related questions.
- Perform other transportation safety and compliance duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in transportation safety, fleet compliance, or the trucking industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Hours of Service regulations, ELDs, NSC, CVIP, and transportation compliance.
- Experience maintaining fleet maintenance records and compliance documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and transportation software.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
