Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Paint Sales Associate to join our team. This role involves engaging with customers both inside the store and through outside sales efforts, providing expert advice on paint products, color matching, and renovation solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, sales experience, and a passion for home improvement projects. You will play a key role in enhancing customer satisfaction, increasing sales, and promoting our high-quality paint and renovation products.
Duties
- Assist customers in selecting the right paint products, finishes, and related supplies based on their project needs.
- Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical advice on color matching, application techniques, and renovation strategies.
- Utilize POS systems for sales transactions, cash handling, and account management.
- Upsell additional products such as primers, brushes, rollers, and specialty coatings to maximize sales opportunities.
- Manage inside sales activities including customer inquiries via phone or in-store interactions.
- Develop relationships with clients through excellent customer service and personalized recommendations.
- Support merchandising efforts by organizing displays and maintaining product availability.
- Maintain organizational skills to keep the sales floor tidy and stocked with merchandise.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail sales, high-end sales, or inside/outside sales roles.
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Knowledge of paint products, colour theory, construction experience, or related fields preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, basic math skills for transactions, and account management experience.
- Ability to demonstrate product demos effectively and upsell additional items confidently.
- Organizational skills to manage inventory displays and merchandising standards.
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with customer service expertise to build rapport and close sales.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
