Jackman Eye Institute and Lens & LASIK are looking for a Team Lead Lens & LASIK to provide day-to-day leadership to our refractive surgery team while supporting the Operations Manager in the coordination of our clinic and surgical operations. - Lead, coach, mentor, and support the Lens & LASIK team on a day-to-day basis.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for team members, providing guidance and resolving operational issues.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and patient-focused culture.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training of new employees.
- Coordinate daily workflow, staffing resources, patient flow, and surgical schedules to maximize efficiency.
- Ensure consistency in patient education, documentation, and surgical preparation.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, physicians, technicians, and patient educators to ensure seamless clinic operations.
- Monitor surgical bookings and patient readiness, ensuring all pre-operative requirements are completed.
- Respond to patient concerns, provide service recovery when needed, and escalate complex issues appropriately.
- Ensure patient records, consents, and documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support the implementation of new clinical processes, technologies, and operational initiatives.
- Participate in quality assurance activities while monitoring patient satisfaction and departmental performance.
- Coach team members through performance improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Minimum three years of experience in a healthcare, ophthalmology, optometry, surgical, or patient service environment.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of patient service, surgical scheduling, and healthcare operations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling software is considered an asset.
- Experience in ophthalmology, refractive surgery, or surgical services is considered an asset.
