Role Overview
Enerva Energy Solutions is seeking qualified Residential Energy Advisors and Energy Auditors in Calgary and Southern Alberta to support an upcoming residential energy audit project.
The initial work is expected to include post-retrofit energy audits beginning near the end of July 2026, followed by approximately 50 or more pre-retrofit audits. Independent contractors will also be responsible for delivering energy-saving kits to homeowners during post-retrofit audit visits.
Successful candidates will conduct residential energy assessments, complete on-site testing and data collection, and submit all required audit reports and supporting documentation to the designated Service Organization in accordance with applicable program requirements.
Program-specific training, procedures, and instructions will be provided before the work begins.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-retrofit and post-retrofit residential energy assessments.
- Complete assessments using the NRCan EnerGuide Rating System requirements, where applicable.
- Perform on-site data collection, blower door testing, and other required diagnostic testing.
- Use HOT2000 software to model residential building performance.
- Assess building envelopes, insulation, air leakage, HVAC systems, windows, doors, and other energy-efficiency measures.
- Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and utility costs.
- Prepare accurate audit reports, technical documentation, and homeowner recommendations.
- Submit completed reports and required documentation to the designated Service Organization within established timelines.
- Deliver energy-saving kits to homeowners during post-retrofit audit visits.
- Follow all program-specific procedures, quality-assurance requirements, and documentation standards.
- Travel within Calgary and assigned communities across Southern Alberta, as required.
Qualifications
- Current NRCan Registered Energy Advisor certification or other applicable residential energy advisor qualifications.
- Experience conducting residential pre-retrofit and post-retrofit energy audits.
- Strong understanding of residential building science and energy-efficiency measures.
- Proficiency with HOT2000 and related energy-modelling tools.
- Experience performing blower door testing and collecting on-site building data.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit assignments.
- Valid Alberta driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Ability and willingness to travel within Calgary and Southern Alberta.
- Ability to successfully complete reference and other applicable program checks.
