About Us
Care Winnipeg is part of the Care Accessible Transportation group, a family of companies providing accessible and paratransit transportation across Ontario, Alberta, and Manitoba since 1995. We have been awarded contracts with Winnipeg Transit Plus and are launching a significant expansion of our Winnipeg operations in August 2026, growing our local fleet to 32 vehicles and our team to 45–50 people over the coming months.
The Opportunity
We are hiring a part-time Bookkeeper/Accountant to own the day-to-day finances of our two Winnipeg entities — an operating company and a vehicle leasing company. This is a standalone, hands-on role: you will run the books and the payroll end-to-end, supported by our group finance team and external accountant. Hours will start at approximately 15–20 per week and are expected to grow to 25+ as new contracts launch in November 2026 — this role is built to expand with the business, and we are looking for someone who wants to grow with it.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-cycle bookkeeping for two related entities in QuickBooks Online, including accounts payable, bank and credit card reconciliations, and monthly intercompany lease invoicing
- Process semi-monthly payroll for a team growing from approximately 20 to 40+ employees: import operator hours from our dispatch system, verify and process pay runs, and issue pay statements
- Manage all payroll compliance: CRA source deduction remittances, Records of Employment (ROEs), T4s, WCB Manitoba reporting, and monitoring of the Manitoba Health and Post Secondary Education Tax Levy
- Code revenue and expenses by contract (class tracking) to support per-contract profitability reporting
- Reconcile fuel cards and vehicle-related operating expenses
- Support employee onboarding paperwork: offer letters, TD1 forms, direct deposit setup, and ID verification
- Assist with month-end close and provide records to the external accountant and group finance team
- General administrative support for the Winnipeg office as capacity allows
What You Bring
- 3+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, ideally in a multi-entity or operations-heavy business (transportation, logistics, or fleet experience an asset)
- Hands-on Canadian payroll experience, including remittances, ROEs, and year-end filings; PCP/PLP designation an asset
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online; comfort learning payroll and time-tracking platforms
- Working knowledge of Manitoba employment standards and payroll legislation
- High accuracy and attention to detail — you catch the error before it compounds
- Self-directed and reliable: you will run this function independently with a light monthly review
- Discretion with confidential payroll and business information

- Schedule: flexible within business hours; must be available around semi-monthly payroll deadlines
