We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Lawyer with a strong background in mortgage enforcement and commercial real estate financing to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing both residential mortgage enforcement matters and commercial financing transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and manage Power of Sale proceedings, including preparing Notices of Sale, overseeing mortgaged properties, and coordinating property sales.
- Independently manage commercial mortgage and financing transactions from inception through closing.
- Provide strategic legal advice to financial institution clients on real estate and secured lending matters.
- Maintain a high standard of client service while managing files efficiently and proactively.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of post-call experience practicing in our areas of real estate law.
- Significant experience in both residential and commercial real estate matters.
- Demonstrated expertise in commercial mortgage transactions and mortgage enforcement proceedings, including Power of Sale.
- Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.
- Experience with Clio is considered an asset.
Compensation
Salary starts at $150,000 and will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Work Environment
This position is based in Vaughan, Ontario. In-person attendance is required, as we believe it enhances collaboration, supports timely client service, and helps maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and data security.
