Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting disciplines, including residential, commercial, restoration, and industrial painting. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, blueprint reading, and the use of hand tools and power tools. The Painter will be responsible for delivering high-quality finishes while adhering to safety standards and project timelines. Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation are essential to ensure client satisfaction and successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, or other tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications
- Perform restoration work on damaged or aged surfaces with precision and attention to detail
- Operate rigging and scaffolding safely for elevated or hard-to-reach areas
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Manage multiple projects efficiently through effective time management skills
- Communicate with clients and team members to coordinate work schedules and clarify project requirements
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety protocols are followed during operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting environments
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction plans
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment safely
- Strong carpentry skills for surface preparation and minor repairs as needed
- Experience with caulking techniques and surface sealing methods
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
- Demonstrated time management skills to meet deadlines efficiently
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various settings including restoration projects
- Prior experience in construction or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific tasks
