Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Daycare Director to oversee the daily operations of our early childhood education center. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children. This leadership role requires strong organizational skills, a background in early childhood education, and the ability to manage staff and interact positively with children and families. The Daycare Director will ensure compliance with licensing standards, develop curriculum plans, and promote a welcoming atmosphere that supports children's growth and development.
Duties
- Manage daily center operations, including staff scheduling, enrollment, and parent communication
- Supervise and support teaching staff to ensure high-quality care and educational programs
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum aligned with early childhood education standards
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and safety protocols
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners
- Oversee budgeting, record keeping, and administrative tasks related to center management
- Coordinate training and professional development opportunities for staff
- Address any behavioral or developmental concerns in collaboration with parents and specialists
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment conducive to learning and caregiving
Skills
- Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or caregiving roles
- Level 3 Alberta Government Child care Certification
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, staff, and community members
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and curriculum planning
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate caregiving approach with patience and understanding of children's needs
- Familiarity with licensing requirements and safety standards for childcare centers

Pay: $27.62-$29.62 per hour
