-- WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a motivated individual that has the following qualifications:
- An accredited post-secondary education degree or diploma in GIS (or relevant field)
- High level of initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to complete tasks within defined timelines with little guidance
- Key personal management skills, including high level of professionalism, strong communication, accountability, adaptability, problem solving, and a high stress tolerance
- Experience in GIS roles including field work, with proven leadership or management capacity
- Proven ability to manage a team, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that can support strong team dynamics, successful projects and build lasting client relationships
- Demonstrated ability to lead GIS projects from planning through execution, ensuring timelines, scope, and deliverables are met
- Expertise in GIS software including ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Avenza Maps, MalaVision, Agisoft etc
- Experience collecting and creating spatial data, including database design and quality control
- Advanced Operations Pilot Certificate or Level 1 Complex Operations Certificate would be an asset
- Some proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as python (arcpy) for workflow optimization
- Strong ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences and clients

In this role you will be given a wide variety of tasks that keep you on your toes:
- Lead ongoing projects and prioritize task management to ensure timelines, scope, and deliverables are met
- Supervise and mentor a small GIS team while balancing workloads and monitoring performance
- Organize, lead, and participate in both internal and client meetings and presentations to exchange project information and communicate key goals
- Operate survey grade equipment (including drones and GPR instruments) both safely and successfully
- In-field data collection in accessible and remote areas for multi-day trips
- Create, manage, process, and maintain spatial data from a wide variety of sources (LiDAR, orthoimagery, GNSS, external sources, etc)
- Ensure deliverables meet CES standards and exceed client expectations by performing data validation and enforce data standards, naming conventions, etc.
- Help lead and design client training activities in relation to all things GIS
