We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be proficient in various maintenance tasks.
Job Description:
- Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and lines
- Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards
- Adjust machine components, machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product
- Regulate machine flow or speed
- Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a Supervisor
- Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material
- Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides
- Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams, or glue that isn’t sticking properly
- Perform preventative maintenance on packaging lines as the schedule requires
- Repair areas in the facility that require attention as per work orders;
- Train Packaging Equipment Operators
- Assist with production on lines as required
- Able to source & order parts through online maintenance program
- Other duties as assigned
- Troubleshooting case sealers, date code printers, Videojet printers, and related equipment.
- Working on various equipment: Hayssen Bagger, Lee Machine, Cartoner, Bartelt, Flow Wrappers, GEA Machines

Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Maintenance Technician or Mechanic specializing in secondary packaging (i.e. shrink wrapping, overwrapping and cartoning)
- Minimum 3 years of Maintenance experience in the food manufacturing industry.
- Experience troubleshooting case sealers, date code printers, Videojet printers, and related equipment.
- Basic working knowledge of the following equipment: Hayssen Bagger, Lee Machine, Cartoner, Bartelt, Flow Wrappers and GEA Machines
- Mechanically inclined
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems
- Prior experience Troubleshooting and Repairing packaging machines
- Engineering/Technical Education background
- Forklift or Scissor Lift certification an asset
- Electrical experience is an asset
- Well versed with Microsoft Office Suite
Shift: Monday – Friday, Day Shift - 7:30am-3:30pm OR Afternoon Shift – 3:30PM – 11:30PM
Payrate: $24-28/hr.(Dependent on experience)
