JOB SUMMARY
The Technician at Ohserase Manufacturing LLC is a critical role focused on maintaining and optimizing the operation of machinery used in tobacco product manufacturing. This hands-on position involves conducting routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment to ensure efficiency and product quality. The role includes leading and mentoring junior technicians, implementing strategies to improve production processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards such as OSHA, FDA, and EPA. Additionally, the Making Technician collaborates with cross-functional teams, develops training programs, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime, reduce customer complaints, and support the company's mission and values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Machinery Maintenance and Operations (65%)

Perform preventive and reparative maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Collect and analyze data to monitor machine performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Operate machines as needed to meet production demands.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and machine performance.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance for reporting and analysis.
Continuous Improvement and Quality Control (20%)

Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement process improvements and recommend equipment upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, GMPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and minimize rejects.
- Build strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure access to quality parts and services.
Compliance and Safety (15%)

Ensure all maintenance and operational activities comply with OSHA, FDA, EPA, and other regulations.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and address potential hazards promptly.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

Must be able to work In Canada
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 10+ years of hands-on technical experience in maintaining and troubleshooting high-speed industrial machinery.
- Proven experience with manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic aptitude.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex machinery.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and production documentation.
- Knowledge of production operating systems software; SAGE preferred.
- Effective leadership experience with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop technical teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and team collaboration.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills for addressing complex machinery issues.
- Attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and safety standards.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (OSHA, FDA, EPA) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

Technical or vocational certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.

- Certifications in safety standards, such as OSHA 10/30, or maintenance-specific credentials.
- Exposure to capital project planning, budgeting, and implementation in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of environmental sustainability practices in production settings.
