Medical Receptionist / Medical Office Administrator required for busy doctors' office in Toronto.
We are seeking a highly motivated, professional, and compassionate individual to join our team as a frontline Medical office administrator /Patient Care Coordinator. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for our patients and play a vital role in shaping their experience with our clinic.
You will oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and smooth work flow. You are required to be familiar with “front office” administrative operations and “back office” clinical operations and to be fully conversant and knowledgeable in respect of:
Professional Qualifications
· Experience with electronic practice management and medical records systems a must – specifically operation of Accuro and all of its administrative functions
In this role, you will:
· Provide exceptional client-facing support, always acting with empathy, discretion, and professionalism
· Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive patient information
· Support one physician with both administrative and patient coordination tasks
· Manage the physician’s calendar and scheduling
· Coordinate and manage patient appointments and medical schedules
· Process OHIP and non-OHIP billing
· Schedule medical procedures and coordinate logistics
· Arrange specialist referrals on behalf of the physician and patients
· Submit prescriptions to pharmacies via telephone
· Track and manage patient consent forms, ensuring accuracy and completeness
· Learn and effectively use clinic EMR systems (Baby Sentry and Accuro)
You’ll thrive in this position if you bring:
· 2–5 years experience as a medical office administrator, clinical administration, or related
· Strong knowledge of medical terminology
· Experience with OHIP billing processes
· Proven ability to manage high-volume, detail-oriented calendars
· Confidence handling sensitive and confidential patient information
· Experience in a private healthcare setting (an asset)
· Familiarity with EMRs, medical software, or databases such as ACCURO
· Strong proficiency in the MS Office Suite
