Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and assess new customer credit applications, trade references, and financial information.
- Evaluating client financial statements, credit bureau reports, and trade references to assign appropriate credit limits.
- Establish and monitor customer credit limits in accordance with company policies and risk tolerance.
- Maintain accurate customer credit files and supporting documentation.
- Recommend credit holds, limit adjustments, or other risk mitigation measures when necessary.
- Monitor customer credit exposure and identify potential risks proactively.
- Monitor the AR Aging Report proactively to identify high-risk accounts with deteriorating financial health.
- Auditing proof of delivery (POD), bill of lading (BOL), and rate confirmations to ensure invoices match.
- Verifying disputed fees such as lumper, waiting time, tailgate, redelivery, e.tc.
- Investigating short-pays, unauthorized deductions, and overcharge claims to recover leaked revenue.
- Proactive A/R audits to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), prevent revenue leakage, and ensure that disputes are identified and resolved before they age into bad debt.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated work experience in Collections, Risks and Management in the Trucking industry
- A degree or diploma in Business or Finance/Accounting is required or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Strong knowledge of Financial Risk Assessment required
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
- Strong computer skills required
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Ability to listen and provide effective and timely feedback
- Ability to work effectively, efficiently and courteously with other staff
- Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines
