Alarm Monitoring Operator
We have partnered with a local Winnipeg based company and leader in the safety & security industry to support in their search of a new Alarm Monitoring Operator to join their team. As the Alarm Monitoring Operator, your main responsibility is to process incoming alarms and answer all related incoming phone calls. You are considered our main workforce of the Monitoring Services Department.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Continuously monitor alarm systems, security cameras, and emergency communication systems for incoming alerts.
· Respond promptly to alarms and take appropriate action, such as contacting emergency services, dispatching personnel, or notifying clients.
· Verify the authenticity of alarms to avoid false responses.
· Maintain professional and effective communication with clients regarding alarm events and system status.
· Provide clear and concise updates to clients during emergencies.
· Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously.
· Accurately log all alarm activations, actions taken, and outcomes in the system.
· Prepare detailed incident reports for internal records and client use.
· Perform routine system checks to verify the proper functioning of monitoring equipment.
· Liaise with law enforcement, fire departments, or emergency medical services as necessary.
· Follow established escalation procedures for unresolved or critical incidents.
· Maintain focus and vigilance during assigned shifts, ensuring consistent monitoring and timely responses.
· Protect client information and maintain confidentiality in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
· Use monitoring systems and software responsibly and securely.
· Provide feedback on system performance and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Competencies
· 2-3 years experience in a customer service.
· Previous experience in the security industry would be considered an asset.
· Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all areas of work.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Strong work ethic with the ability to multi-task.
· Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check.
· Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights (9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.), weekends, and rotating schedules, in accordance with operational requirements.
