Communications Coordinator – Calgary

We are looking for a Communications Coordinator to join our team in Calgary. This is a full-time position for a driven communications professional who combines strong administrative and storytelling abilities with strategic thinking, creativity, and a passion for connecting people through meaningful communication.
As a Communications Coordinator, you will play a key role in shaping how employees experience and understand our organization. Working across a diverse business, you'll support organizational initiatives and change and bring important stories to life through a variety of communication channels.
Reporting to the Manager, Communications you'll collaborate with leaders and teams across the organization to support communications that are clear, engaging, and aligned with our brand. From employee engagement initiatives to project storytelling, corporate events, and intranet content, you'll help ensure our people stay informed, connected, and inspired.

How You'll Add Value
The Communications Coordinator supports the planning, development, and execution of communications initiatives across the organization. Key responsibilities include:

Write, edit, and publish high-quality communications across a variety of channels, including intranet articles, employee communications, leadership messages, presentations, newsletters, announcements, and corporate materials

Partner with leaders, project teams, and subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, engaging, and audience-focused communications

Support the execution of communication plans for organizational initiatives, change management activities, employee engagement programs, and business priorities

Maintain editorial calendars, communication plans, project trackers, and content schedules to ensure timely and coordinated delivery of communications

Support the planning and execution of Town Halls, People & Culture initiatives, including content development, presentation support, logistics, and on-site coordination

Create and maintain content for the company intranet, ensuring information remains current, accessible, and aligned with organizational priorities

Capture and share employee, project, safety, and community stories that highlight our people, culture, projects, and business achievements

Coordinate photography, video production, design, printing, and other creative services with internal teams and external vendors

Support corporate giving, community investment, recruitment marketing, and employer branding initiatives as required

Champion and maintain brand standards across all communications, presentations, signage, templates, digital assets, and marketing materials

Monitor communication effectiveness through engagement metrics, analytics, and stakeholder feedback, reporting and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

Support the administration of the company merchandise program, including vendor coordination, inventory oversight, and promotional initiatives
What You Bring

Diploma or degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

2-4 years of experience in communications, corporate communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field

Experience drafting and delivering internal communications, employee engagement initiatives, communication plans, or change management communications

Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences and communication channels

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other digital communication platforms

Proficient with Canva and comfortable creating branded presentations, graphics, communications materials, and digital content

Experience in construction, infrastructure, industrial, or multi-location organizations is considered an asset

Experience with photography, video coordination, content management systems, or visual storytelling is considered an asset

Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while contributing as part of a collaborative team
