Pay Grid: Salary Range 1 ($35,657.14 to $46,800.00 per year)
Reporting to: Office Manager - Child & Family Services
Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the Office Manager, the custodian will ensure the cleanliness of Office Manager in all areas inside and outside. The custodian will ensure the facility is clean and neat, in a safe manner that meets company standards. They use cleaning chemicals to maintain equipment and other supplies while dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning restrooms.
Key Deliverables and Expectations

Ensure daily cleaning and disinfection of floors, windows, fixtures, and washroom areas. Refill washroom dispensers as needed.
- Ensure the facility is secured and locked when not in use.
- Complete daily cleaning schedules, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and wiping down surfaces across all areas (such as offices, kitchens and washrooms).
- Operate various industrial cleaning equipment (such as buffers, vacuum cleaners, carpet machines, and steam cleaners).
- Move furniture, clean, dust, and wipe down furniture and underneath, and return it to its original position.
- Empty trash cans, waste containers, and recyclables, ensuring proper sorting into designated bins in the waste area.
- Wash interior windows and walls as required.
- Clean and disinfect the kitchen area, including small appliances.
- Refill paper towels, tissues, toilet paper, hand soap, and hand sanitizers in dispensers as needed.
- Ensure that all mats and carpets near doorways, if applicable, are steam cleaned on a weekly basis.
- Launder cleaning rags and dust mops as needed.
- Collect and dispose of garbage and recycled materials.
- Advise the Reporting Manager of any needed supplies and provide recommendations for replacements.
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the Reporting Manager.
- Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.

Perform other related duties as requested.
Experience and Attributes:
- Minimum of Grade 10 education.
- Building Services Worker (1-3 years) training is an asset.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
- WHMIS certification is an asset.
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of Lílwat Nation community, history, culture, language, and customs an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
- Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, including the vulnerable sector.
