Overview
K&D Contracting, an established road construction company, is seeking a skilled Swamper/ Rock Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience building logging roads on the West Coast. The job involves in-town and camp work and is based at various locations on the North Island, Johnson Straits & Mid Coast.
Duties
- Swamp on Rock Truck
- Handle & load explosives as directed by the driller/blaster.
- Maintain accurate timesheets
- Operate 30 or 35 tonne articulated rock truck as required.
- Perfom Pre & Post trip circle checks
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
- Work and operate outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, fog, and winter conditions.
- Perform labour tasks: fueling, greasing, and cleaning equipment, operating powered equipment, loading, and unloading of miscellaneous supplies and equipment, and other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Knowledge of dumping and hauling procedures
- Physically Fit
- Knowledge of 30, 35 articulate rock trucks
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for the position ex: able to lift 50lb bags & boxes of explosives.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills to provide outstanding team communications.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Security clearance letter or equivalent document for access to explosives.

Pay: $37.49-$39.17 per hour
