Furniture Sales Associate
Penwood Furniture is a family run business that takes pride in providing quality, locally made and handcrafted furniture to clients and exceeding their expectations from point of sale to delivery day. The job applicant must take pride in providing exceptional customer service. We have been in business for 25+ years, and are now opening our fourth location in Collingwood.
Job Requirements:
HOURS
Our Part Time schedule is 2-3 days per week in 8-hour shifts including weekend shifts.
COMPENSATION
We use an hourly rate – plus commission (based on delivered sales) structure. The starting pay structure is $25 / hour or a base hourly wage plus a commission percentage.
ROLE
The Sales Associate position addresses customer’s decorating and home furnishing needs with in-store or online consultations, advising on selections, and supports the customer from point of sale to delivery. Our ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, is an expert at building relationships, and has excellent communication skills both in person and online. The ideal candidate is self-motivated to achieve sales targets, but also works comfortably within a small team environment. Our work environment thrives on team work because we are not a full commission sales floor, which our customers love. The ideal candidate is focused on providing an outstanding customer experience that we are known for.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 1 years sales or customer service experience preferably in a home furniture retail environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, and a keen interest in interior decoration is a must.
- Certified Interior Decorator would be considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills in person, and written/online.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer/keyboarding/online skills.
- Must have ability to work independently, and be goal oriented to achieve sales targets.
- Highly responsive to other team members, and clients
- Education in a field related to design/decoration considered an asset.
