Before & After School Educator
Beddington Heights Before & After School Program is a licensed, recreation-based nonprofit providing before and after school care for elementary-aged children in northwest Calgary.
We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic Before & After School Educators to join our team. Educators create a safe, fun, and engaging environment through activities such as crafts, games, sports, outdoor play, and more.
We welcome both experienced childcare professionals and those starting their career. Paid training, orientation, and a three-month mentorship program are provided to support your success. Educators are encouraged to bring their own ideas and creativity into the program while working alongside a supportive team.
Position Details
Start Date: August 31, 2026 (for the upcoming school year)
Location: Beddington Heights, Calgary, AB
Job Type: Part-time, school-year position with opportunities for full-day shifts on non-school days
Schedule
This is a part-time position with the following shifts available:
- Monday to Friday: 6:45 AM – 9:00 AM
- Monday to Friday: 2:15 PM – 6:00 PM
- Full-day (8-hour) shifts are available on Fridays, PD days, school breaks, and other days when children are not in school.
You can choose the shifts that best fit your availability.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in a safe, positive environment.
- Lead activities that are fun, active, and age-appropriate.
- Build positive relationships while supporting children's social, emotional, and physical development.
- Communicate professionally with children, families, and coworkers.
- Follow licensing, health, and safety requirements.
- Complete daily documentation and incident reports as required.
- Assist with program setup, cleanup, and organization.

Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (or willing to obtain).
- First Aid & CPR Certification (or willing to obtain).
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certification (Level 1, 2, or 3) is considered an asset.
If you are missing some of the required qualifications, we can help you obtain them. We also support staff who want to continue their education through available grants and professional development opportunities.
What We Offer
- Starting wage based on certification and experience: $15.75–$17.00/hour plus applicable government wage top-up
