As an employee of the Ligwilda’xw Health Society (LKT) you will be a key member of the health team, providing direct patient support to LKT member nation citizens. This exciting role will offer the right candidate a full-time position.
Position Profile
Reporting to the Health Director and working with limited supervision, the Community Support Mentor are well connected to the communities and will provide support, practical assistance, and advocacy for women/men who are making fundamental changes in their lives. With a social work diploma, or equivalent, the position exists to help coordinate client care within the LKT Health system and across systems including education, social services, financial resources, recreation, etc.. The Community Support Mentor believes in the women/men and provide unconditional support as required and or directs them to the appropriate services be it internal or external.
Level Of Experience & Job Qualifications
· One (1) year certificate from a recognized institution specializing in social work, humanities or human services.
· Three (3) years directly related experience in the majority of specialties listed in the job description (e.g. experience in accessing community resources, legally advocacy, life and parenting skills.)
· Previous experience working in a First Nations Community (particularly member communities) is preferred.
In circumstances where there is an equal combination of qualifications and experience, preference will be given to people of Aboriginal heritage.
Pay: $24.85-$31.61 per hour
