South Skaha Housing Society, a non-profit housing provider, is seeking a capable and community-minded Housing Manager to oversee daily operations for 62 affordable housing units in two buildings.
This full-time position is suited to an organized and service-focused individual who can work independently, manage a varied workload, and support safe, well-maintained housing for tenants.
Key responsibilities include tenant relations, rent and subsidy administration, move-ins and move-outs, maintenance coordination, contractor follow-up, inspections, computerized record keeping, and regular reporting to the Board of Directors.
The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and respectful communication when working with tenants, service providers, contractors, and Board members. Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act, BC Housing requirements, rent-geared-to-income administration, privacy obligations, and basic building maintenance is important. Experience in property management, non-profit housing, building operations, administration, or a related field is preferred.
Key qualifications include: relevant property management, non-profit housing, building operations, or administrative experience; strong communication and conflict-resolution skills; confidence using computerized records and office systems; practical maintenance knowledge; sound judgment; and the ability to work independently while contributing to a respectful housing community.
The Society offers a comprehensive benefit package, with RRSP match for a 35 hour work week.
