Position Overview:
The Working Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily job site operations while working alongside the crew to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role requires strong leadership, construction experience, and the ability to coordinate crews, equipment, and production targets in the field. The foreman will also manage expectations for daily and weekly KPIs to ensure the project meets performance and production goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise construction crews on Fibre to the Home projects
- Coordinate daily tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently
- Work alongside the drill crew to prepare and set up drill shots, including pit preparation, site setup, and restoration
- Operate and oversee the use of various small and heavy construction equipment
- Perform site layout, excavation, grading, and restoration work as required
- Ensure work is completed according to project plans, locates, and safety requirements
- Communicate with project managers, crews, and subcontractors
- Monitor production and manage expectations of daily and weekly KPIs, ensuring crews stay on target
- Complete daily job reports and progress updates using monday.com to track production, job progress, and site activities
- Conduct daily safety checks and equipment inspections
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in civil construction or underground utilities
- Previous crew leadership or foreman experience
- Experience working around directional drilling and underground utility installations
- Strong knowledge of job site operations, excavation, and restoration
- Ability to read plans, locates, and job site drawings
- Comfortable using digital tools (monday.com) for daily reporting and KPI tracking
- Valid G Driver’s License required (DZ/AZ is an asset)
- Reliable, organized, and strong leadership skills
