Job Summary
Phase One Construction Ltd. is seeking a motivated and skilled 2nd Year Apprentice Carpenter through Journeyman Carpenter to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of commercial, multi-family residential, custom home and condominium construction projects throughout Southern Alberta.
This position is ideal for an individual who takes pride in quality workmanship, works well independently and as part of a team, and is committed to maintaining a safe and productive job site. Candidates will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced tradespeople while contributing to projects from foundation through finishing stages.
Responsibilities
- Perform general carpentry duties on commercial and residential projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Construct, install, and repair wood, steel stud, and other building components.
- Assist with concrete formworks framing, blocking, and structural carpentry.
- Install doors, hardware, trim, millwork, and finishing components as required.
- Assist with site layout and measurements.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and fellow tradespeople.
- Complete tasks in accordance with project schedules and quality standards.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OH&S regulations.
- Perform other construction-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior construction experience or related hands-on experience required.
- Registered 2nd Year Apprentice Carpenter, 3rd Year Apprentice, 4th Year Apprentice, or Journeyman Carpenter
- Strong understanding of carpentry methods, materials, and construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, climbing, kneeling, and performing demanding construction activities.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.
