Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Student Talent Development, the part-time Co-op and Career Service Representative delivers front line reception and client services and provides administrative and program support to the Co-op and Career Centre.
The incumbent serves as the first point of contact for the students and partners of the Co-op and Career Centre, and is responsible for responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, welcoming employers and partners to campus, and overseeing a smooth experience for students and employers accessing services. The incumbent receives incoming telephone calls, e-mails and walk-in inquiries, responding to a variety of general and specific questions about the Co-op and Career Centre. Based on student or employer inquiries, the incumbent may need to provide general navigation support to another College services/departments.
This position serves as a primary contact for Algonquin College students, and an extensive list of internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent facilitates regular communications with key internal stakeholders, including the Registrar’s Office, Academic Departments, and the International Education Centre. Often the first point of contact for the Co-op and Career Centre or the College, the incumbent conducts themselves in a professional manner and ensures inquiries/requests are forwarded to the appropriate person/area and/or responded to in a timely manner. The incumbent works closely with Co-op and Career Centre staff, students, and provides administrative and clerical support to the Manager, Student Talent Development and Manager, External Engagement and Partnerships.

Supporting departmental activities, programs, and services

Required Qualifications:
Two (2) Year Diploma in Office Administration, Business Marketing, Public Relations, Career Development, Human Resources, or a related field
Computer software skills, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and use/management of client databases and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
Exceptional client service skills, including the ability to set a positive, professional tone in all interactions with all clients, while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
Minimum of three (3) years practical experience in a fast-paced, “high demand” client-service setting in an educational institution or equivalent experience in a similar setting, including:
Work experience in a complex detail-oriented, customer service driven computerized office environment
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and possess a high attention to detail (organize time and work within workload demands) including:
Daily delivery of front-line client service
Addressing client service issues/needs
Ability to look up information and generate reports in Excel and other online tools
Calendar/scheduling management
Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint), online video conferencing software (Zoom, Teams), and scheduling software

- Anticipated Schedule: Monday to Thursday: 8:00AM-2:30PM
