The Living Room (1 day/week or recurring workshops)
The Living Room is looking for passionate, engaging specialists and facilitators to join our learning community. We are seeking individuals who can bring subjects to life in ways that children can truly feel, explore, and connect with.
About The Living Room:
At The Living Room, we believe childhood should feel safe, connected, meaningful, and deeply human. We are building a small, relationship-based co-operative learning community for sensitive and slow-to-warm children ages 4–7 that honours emotional development, curiosity, creativity, movement, and nervous system regulation alongside academics.
This is not a traditional classroom.This is a space where children are supported to:
- feel safe in their bodies
- move through anxiety with support (not pressure)
- take healthy risks and build confidence
- connect deeply with nature, self, and others
- develop a true love of learning
Areas of Interest Include:
- Art
- Music
- Nature & outdoor education
- Movement / yoga / dance
- Science and math through games & hands-on exploration
- Cooking
- Emotional literacy
- Storytelling / drama
- Building / maker projects
- Cultural, community or practical life skills
*We are not looking for traditional classroom-style instruction.
We Are Looking For People Who:
- Spark curiosity and wonder
- Understand that children learn best through relationship and engagement
- Adapt to different learning styles and sensitivities
- Create emotionally safe, encouraging environments

- Can follow the child while still offering structure and leadership

- Experience working with young children
- A warm, engaging, and flexible presence
- Passion for your craft or area of expertise
- Ability to make learning interactive and meaningful
- Alignment with gentle, respectful, relationship-based approaches
