Main Function
The Aquatics Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the delivery and administration of aquatic programs and services across the City’s facilities. This position oversees specialty aquatic programming, manages operational logistics, and ensures exceptional customer service and staff coordination. The role also includes responsibilities in digital scheduling, inventory management, and inclusive programming. This position reports to the Manager of Leisure and Aquatics within the recreation department.

Responsibilities
Program and Staff Coordination
- Oversee Aqua Fitness and Specialty Aquatics Programs, ensuring quality instruction and participant satisfaction.
- Hire, manage, and process payroll for 5–6 aquafit instructors and 15+ swim coaches annually.
- Assist with staff scheduling and planning of training sessions throughout the year.
- Implement programming for clients with adapted needs.
Operational Support
- Support the Aquatic Operations Coordinator with daily tasks and special projects.
- Manage ACC Pro-Shop operations, including inventory and ordering.
- Maintain quality and inventory of aquatic gear at the Aquatics Centre.
- Complete Lifesaving Society forms and paperwork as required.
Digital and Administrative Functions
- Monitor and maintain the online pool schedule for accuracy and accessibility.
- Assist with hiring packages (average of 300 MAC forms per year), payroll inputting, and corrections.
- Coordinate communications with program participants, ensuring timely and professional responses.
Customer Service and Community Engagement
- Deliver high-quality customer service to residents, staff, and stakeholders.
- Assist with city-wide special events, contributing to planning and on-site support.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Recreation, Aquatics, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in aquatic programming or facility operations.
- Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Experience with scheduling systems and payroll processes.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Knowledge of adapted programming and inclusive recreation practices is an asset.
